Cartersville- Allatoona Pass Battlefield
The Jist- This battlefield is remarkable in the sense that there are buildings still standing from the civil war era. On October 5th, 1864, an intense battle was held here. There were about 5,300 men who actually fought at this battle and after this battle had ended, there were about 1,505 casualties. The Mooney house, which is still standing today, was used as a hospital during the civil war. There are bullet holes and blood that can still be seen on the walls and floors of this house. There are reports of sounds of gunshots, voices, shadow figures, and unexplainable lights in this area.
Directions- From I-75 get of at exit 283, which is in Bartow County. Head east on Old Allatoona Road for about 1 ½ miles. Cross the railroad tracks and there are markers on the left.

The Jist- We had the opportunity to speak with Wayne, the owner of Southern Oaks and he informed us that he has experienced paranormal activity throughout the 15 years he has been there. They have had 3 different investigations and each have turned up some type of evidence. He did inform us that the activity has always been positive and for anyone interested in owning a real deal haunted place, the inn is for sale!

The Jist- Established in 1837, this is Georgia’s first insane asylum. It has extremely large grounds. Parts are still a working hospital and some are abandoned. There are reports of full body apparitions, strange noises and cold spots.
